For our March event, Dr. James Adams, USC School of Pharmacy Associate Professor presented Healing in the Chumash Way.

During the talk, Dr. Adams taught us how to make medicines from California plants, how the medicines work and why we should use them.

Dr. James Adams has a PhD in Pharmacology and has taught Pharmacy and Medical Students at the University of Southern California for 31 years. He was educated by a Chumash Indian Healer who wrote a book with him “Healing with medicinal plants of the west.” He leads hikes for the general public to teach people how to make medicines from local plants.
